ABOUT ME
Before I became a Certified Dog Trainer,I was in the banking industry for almost a decade. I have always being passionate about Dogs and Animals in general and since I was a child I wondered how trainers were able to get them to do almost anything.
It wasn't until Princess, my miniature schnauzer came to our lives that I realized the importance of teaching good manners. As Princess was growing up my family and I made some mistakes that developed some behavioral issues on her, but the worse part was that we blamed her for the unwanted behaviors.
We then decided to take Princess to a basic obedience class, she learned pretty fast and became more obedient, but because there were other dogs in the class the trainer couldn't spend more than 10 minutes with each dog individually, we considered private lessons but did not take them back then.
We continue practicing the exercises with Princess at home in order to maintain these new behaviors, I also started reading more about dog training to familiarize myself more. A couple of months later Diva my golden miniature schnauzer came to our lives, one of the main reasons was to accompanied Princess and help her with her separation anxiety, unfortunately we continue making mistakes with both of them because of our lack of experience and because we thought we could train them without a professional dog trainer.
We then decided to hire a Certified Dog Trainer for private lessons, it was an amazing and very convenient experience to have a professional come to our house and dedicate the entire class to us with no distractions, our schedule, our environment and no traveling, we felt so special.
After we finished the private lessons and experiencing much better results, I made the decision "I am going to get my certification as a Dog Trainer to have an amazing relationship with my dogs and help other dog owners and families have extraordinary relationships with their own Dogs". I joined Animal Behavior College, received my certification and left the banking industry, now I am a full time Dog Trainer.
Mission Statement
My mission is to help Dog owners and families understand their dog's language and needs as well as help dogs understand their owner's language and expectations. My techniques will help decrease the number of dogs that are surrendered by their owners to the Animal shelters because of lack of training and unwanted behaviors. Every day hundreds of dogs are euthanized at these shelters due to lack of space, behavior issues, etc. I volunteer at these shelters by teaching good manners to these homeless dogs and correct unwanted behaviors to help them find a forever home. |
